Clubs
AfterOpp is an initiative at Nathan Hale Junior High, led by Youth At Heart and Tulsa’s citywide intermediary, The Opportunity Project. Through this FREE program, junior high students enjoy fun, safe after-school programs — ranging from sports, arts and music, to hands-on science. Through hands-on activities students are given the opportunity to explore their passions and expand their interests. We seek to inspire all students to think outside the box, try new things and create lasting friendships with their peers and club leaders. Join us for AfterOpp!
Youth in AfterOpp will enjoy:
- High quality, safe programs
- Hands-on activities designed and led by some of Tulsa’s best organizations and teachers
- A hot supper at the start of the program
- Opportunities to build relationships with friends and caring adults
Regular participation in after-school programs results in:
- Better attendance
- Higher math grades
- Improved mood and physical activity
- Increased school retention and graduation rates
- College and career readiness

Youth are required to attend ALL days their chosen programs meet. Those who have more than two unexcused absences or who do not comply with AfterOpp code of conduct can be removed from programs and their slots offered to someone on the waiting list.
