Mark Cole is a 1987 graduate of Sallisaw High School. Upon completion of high school he attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. In 1994, Mark joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed aboard the USS Belleau Wood in Sasebo, Japan. After spending 4 years in the Navy, he lived and taught English in Japan for 4 years.
When Mr. Cole returned from Japan he completed his bachelor's in health and kinesiology at NSU and he completed his Masters of Education in 2009. He began his TPS career as a teacher assistant at Grissom Elementary School. Mr. Cole was hired to teach math at Hale Jr. High (formerly Whitney) in 2006. He has remained at Hale Jr. High since and has served as assistant principal and currently serves as the interim principal.
Mark and his wife (Takami) have 2 sons. He enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid OU fan.
My name is KayLisha L.Newsome, I was born and raised in Omaha, NE. I received my BA in Business Administration with an endorsement in education from the University of Nebraska Lincoln. I received my MA in Supervision and Instruction PK-12 endorsement, from Concordia University, and finally I received an MS in Organizational Leadership with a specialization in Criminal Justice. I have been serving in education for 10 years, as a high school business teacher, basketball coach, and step team coach. I have been serving with children in various capacities for well over 14 years. I have 4 children ranging from 4 to 17. I will have been in Tulsa for one year as of June 2019. I've recently served as AP at Gilcrease Elementary, this past school year. I am beyond excited to become a part of the Hale family.
